Base Salary
$108k - $195k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and develop robust C/C++ embedded software under senior developer oversight.
- Develop, field, support, and maintain software products including analysis tools, simulations, mission planning software, and mission-critical system components.
- Create and execute unit and integration tests for software components.
- Troubleshoot and resolve application issues and bugs.
- Participate in code reviews and collaborate with customers, end users, and team members.
- Use GitLab pipelines for configuration management, continuous integration, and automated testing.
- Work as part of an Agile software development team and perform other assigned software development duties.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, mathematics, or an equivalent technical degree, with an overall GPA of at least 3.0.
- At least 8 years of relevant technical experience, or 6+ years with a master’s degree.
- Strong software development competency in C/C++, Java, C#, Rust, or Python.
- Experience writing unit and integration tests with unit-test frameworks.
- Familiarity with Linux and Windows operating systems, development tools and IDEs, scripts, debuggers, and administrative features.
- Familiarity with Agile tools such as GitLab Ultimate, Atlassian Jira, Trello, or Monday.com.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong verbal, written, analytical, and process-improvement skills.
- U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
- Residence in North Alabama or willingness to relocate to the Huntsville-North Alabama area.
- Preferred: experience with IEEE 12207, CMMI, DO-178C, DO-278, or RMF standards.
- Preferred: experience designing and implementing time-sensitive software, real-time software, hardware-in-the-loop simulations, vehicle systems, medical devices, or IoT components.
