Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Define system-level software requirements and allocations for spacecraft flight software implementation.
- Coordinate software architecture strategy and implementation approaches.
- Create and maintain software development, implementation, verification, management, configuration management, maintenance, and fault management processes and plans.
- Oversee software development resources, allocations, software-related interface control documents, lifecycle reviews, and acceptance reviews.
- Oversee flight software verification and spacecraft integration test activities.
- Provide technical mentoring and assistance in flight software development, testing, systems engineering, commands, telemetry, and concepts of operations.
- Coordinate with internal, payload, and other users to ensure software interfaces are adequate and agreed upon.
- Develop understandable, valid, traceable, and verifiable software requirements.
- Mentor junior engineers across Blue Ring.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent technical field.
- 10+ years of related experience designing, developing, and testing aerospace systems, preferably spacecraft.
- Demonstrated understanding of systems engineering fundamentals and experience across multiple system lifecycle phases.
- Familiarity with spacecraft operations, command and control, spacecraft communications, flight software design and architecture, and embedded software concepts.
- Experience developing or testing flight software and integrating systems with depth in spacecraft subsystems or system design and integration.
- Experience with hardware integration, message buses, scheduling, network communication, spacecraft interfaces, communication protocols, and CCSDS command and telemetry formats.
- Preferred qualifications include a relevant master’s degree, active TS/SCI clearance with CI poly, hardware/software boundary debugging, complex trade studies, hardware and software testbeds, Agile methodologies, Jira, GitLab, CI/CD pipelines, and Model-Based Systems Engineering.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted refugee or asylee.
