Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Define system-level software requirements and allocations for spacecraft flight software and subsystems.
- Coordinate spacecraft software architecture strategy and implementation approaches.
- Create software development, implementation, testing, verification, configuration management, and fault management guidelines and procedures.
- Oversee software development resources, allocations, and software interface control documents.
- Conduct software lifecycle reviews, including requirements, code walkthrough, test readiness, test results, and acceptance test reviews.
- Oversee flight software verification and spacecraft integration testing.
- Provide technical assistance and mentoring on flight software, commands, telemetry, and concepts of operations.
- Coordinate software interfaces with internal users, payloads, and other stakeholders.
- Ensure software requirements are understandable, valid, traceable, and verifiable.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Science, Aerospace, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent technical field.
- 10+ years of related experience designing, developing, and testing aerospace systems, preferably spacecraft.
- Understanding of systems engineering fundamentals and experience across multiple system lifecycle phases.
- Experience with spacecraft operations, command and control, spacecraft communications, flight software development or testing, and integrated system design or integration.
- Familiarity with spacecraft flight software design and architecture, including cFS or F Prime.
- Understanding of embedded software concepts including hardware integration, message buses, scheduling, and network communications.
- Experience with spacecraft subsystem functions, interfaces, communication protocols, and CCSDS command and telemetry standards.
- Preferred: master’s degree, active TS/SCI clearance with CI poly, hardware/software boundary debugging, complex trade studies, hardware and software testbeds, modern software development practices, Jira, GitLab, CI/CD pipelines, and Model-Based Systems Engineering.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted refugee or person granted asylum.
