Base Salary
$150k - $230k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize ground control software supporting low-latency communication with UAVs and autonomous platforms.
- Build full-stack applications for telemetry processing and fusion, mission planning, real-time situational awareness, operator workflows, and vehicle state.
- Develop responsive user interfaces with React and TypeScript for telemetry readouts and sensor feeds.
- Collaborate with autonomy, embedded systems, human factors, UX, aircraft software, Hivemind, and flight-test teams.
- Contribute to architecture and system designs focused on responsiveness, scalability, and fault tolerance.
- Lead or participate in feature and subsystem development from early design through deployment and iteration.
- Write well-tested code and participate in peer design and code reviews.
Requirements
- Senior candidates need a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Robotics, or a related field with 5+ years of professional software development experience, a master’s with 4+ years, or a PhD with 2+ years.
- Staff candidates need the same relevant bachelor’s degree with 7+ years of professional software development experience, a master’s with 6+ years, or a PhD with 4+ years.
- Proficiency in a strongly typed language such as C#, TypeScript, Java, or C++, with exposure to lower-level systems or protocol integration.
- Experience with React, TypeScript or JavaScript, Node.js, web technologies, distributed systems, networked applications, and user-interface development.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals in version control, testing, debugging, performance profiling, system integration, and problem solving.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, cross-functional engineering environment and develop software without Generative AI tools.
- Ability to obtain a security clearance.
- Preferred qualifications include experience with GCS software, mission-planning tools, real-time visualization, REST or gRPC APIs, WebSocket or custom telemetry formats, STANAG 4586, Cursor on Target, MAVLink, UAS platforms, AI/ML systems, Docker, Kubernetes, cloud telemetry pipelines, sensor fusion, and cybersecurity or security practices for embedded, control, or distributed systems.
