Responsibilities
- Build and refine controls that prevent customers from scams.
- Develop backend and frontend systems for scam prevention and detection, with approximately 80% backend and 20% frontend work.
- Design and operate scalable distributed and concurrent systems and deployment pipelines.
- Own scam prevention projects end to end and make data-driven product decisions.
- Work with product, data science, and investigations teams to deliver customer-focused solutions.
- Improve automation and financial crime prevention capabilities while protecting customer funds.
Requirements
- Professional experience with Java or other JVM-based languages and the Spring framework.
- Experience building and designing scalable web applications that handle large amounts of traffic, ideally with React-based frontend applications and JavaScript or TypeScript.
- Experience designing and operating CI/CD pipelines and distributed, concurrent systems.
- Experience with relational and non-relational databases, query optimization, and resilient schema design.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals, problem-solving ability, and commitment to test-driven development and coding best practices.
- Strong communication skills for explaining complex technical concepts across teams.
- A strong product mindset, accountability, and ability to drive projects independently.
- Familiarity with the machine learning lifecycle, including data pipelines, feature engineering, and deploying ML systems into production, is nice to have.
