Responsibilities
- Build and own backend services, REST APIs, and microservices from design through production.
- Develop scalable, secure, and maintainable application-layer systems.
- Work on distributed systems, asynchronous workflows, messaging, retries, and fault tolerance.
- Partner with Product, Infrastructure, Data Science/ML, and Engineering teams.
- Improve performance, reliability, observability, and engineering standards.
- Participate in technical design, code reviews, testing, CI/CD, and production troubleshooting.
Requirements
- 3+ years of professional backend software engineering experience building scalable, reliable distributed systems.
- Strong coding skills in Go, Java, or a similar backend language.
- Strong computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems.
- Experience with REST APIs, microservices, SQL/NoSQL databases, and event-driven systems.
- Familiarity with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, SQS, RabbitMQ, and CI/CD.
- Strong ownership, communication, and ability to explain technical decisions and trade-offs clearly.
