Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate cloud-native platforms for software validation, release validation, production readiness, and developer productivity.
- Maintain production-like ServiceNow release and test environments that improve release confidence and deployment readiness.
- Build automated test pipelines, observability, reliability signals, deployment intelligence, and quality gates into engineering workflows.
- Develop reusable frameworks, self-service environments, test data management, mock services, and developer productivity tooling.
- Design and enhance Kubernetes platforms for scalable test infrastructure, release automation, cloud-native workloads, and developer self-service.
- Implement automated validation for failure detection, deployment verification, policy enforcement, security checks, resilience testing, and operational health.
- Resolve complex platform, infrastructure, and networking challenges through software engineering, systems design, and automation.
- Partner with engineering teams on platform reliability, release quality, cloud-native adoption, and engineering best practices.
- Participate in architecture reviews and technical design discussions and influence technical decisions through strong execution.
- Mentor engineers through technical guidance, code reviews, and knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, Platform Engineering, Software Engineering, or Infrastructure Engineering with a bachelor’s degree; or 6 years with a master’s degree; or 3 years with a PhD; or equivalent experience.
- Hands-on Kubernetes experience spanning cluster operations, networking, storage, security, autoscaling, and multi-cluster environments.
- Experience building and operating scalable, highly available cloud-native platforms and integrating Kubernetes with automated deployment and test workflows.
- Experience with developer productivity automation, progressive delivery, canary deployments, feature flags, automated rollback, and deployment verification.
- Experience with chaos engineering, resilience testing, disaster recovery, reliability validation, observability, monitoring, SLI/SLOs, incident management, and distributed-systems operations.
- Strong software engineering experience designing, developing, testing, and debugging applications with Python, Go, Java, or Ruby.
- Ability to solve complex technical problems, independently drive projects, collaborate across engineering teams, and work effectively in ambiguous environments.
- Preferred experience with GitOps, CI/CD automation, GitLab CI/CD, Argo CD, Flux, enterprise test automation, test orchestration, contract testing, synthetic testing, and developer self-service platforms.
- Preferred experience with Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, REST Assured, PyTest, JUnit, TestNG, Ansible, Terraform, Helm, Argo Workflows, Kustomize, Istio, Linkerd, Gateway API, Ingress, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, and container runtimes.
- Preferred experience operating Kubernetes across AWS EKS, Azure AKS, and Google Cloud GKE.
- Experience leveraging or critically evaluating AI in work processes, with AI-assisted engineering experience considered a plus.
