Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable containerized Java Spring Boot microservices.
- Build high-performance APIs and event-driven integrations connecting platforms with firm-wide control systems.
- Develop backend APIs supporting React or Angular micro-frontend applications.
- Own assigned features from technical design and specifications through implementation, testing, and deployment.
- Use AI-powered development tools such as GitHub Copilot and code analyzers to improve development velocity and code quality.
- Participate in code reviews, share development best practices, and contribute to software design, containerization, and data-caching standards.
- Analyze applications for vulnerabilities and security issues, and conduct testing and debugging.
- Consult with users, clients, and technology groups to resolve issues and recommend programming solutions.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of hands-on software development experience building robust backend systems.
- Strong proficiency in Java 17 or above and deep hands-on experience with Spring Boot.
- Experience with Apache Kafka, Redis, software design patterns, and SQL.
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.
- Experience developing cloud-native applications, microservices, and RESTful APIs.
- Ability to take ownership of features or small-scale projects within an agile development team.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with Python, React, or Angular is preferred.
- Experience in financial services or another large, complex global environment is highly desirable.
- Strong written and verbal communication, problem-solving, decision-making, and deadline-management skills.
