Base Salary
$120k - $235k/yr
Responsibilities
- Drive performance, scalability, reliability, and architectural improvements across Office web applications.
- Identify and resolve performance issues using telemetry, profiling, and experimentation.
- Lead complex cross-team engineering initiatives and technical design efforts.
- Use agentic AI to accelerate development, testing, debugging, code modernization, and engineering productivity.
- Partner across Microsoft to deliver high-impact customer experiences.
- Establish engineering practices that improve quality, reliability, and performance.
- Mentor engineers and contribute to technical excellence across the organization.
- Participate in on-call support and resolve production issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field and 4+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, or equivalent experience.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check.
- Preferred: master’s degree with 6+ years of software engineering experience or equivalent experience.
- Experience leading complex cross-team engineering initiatives and driving technical decisions.
- Experience improving the performance, scalability, and reliability of large-scale web applications.
- Experience modernizing large codebases through architectural improvements, refactoring, and performance optimization.
- Demonstrated ability to leverage agentic AI for software development, code transformation, testing, debugging, and engineering productivity.
