Responsibilities

  • Lead deep-dive security research into SaaS applications, API architectures, cloud environments, attack vectors, threat behaviors, and evasive adversary tactics.
  • Design next-generation inline inspection algorithms and security controls for enterprise cloud data protection and threat prevention.
  • Conduct protocol and traffic analysis to develop network security countermeasures against targeted attacks.
  • Architect scalable automated frameworks for real-time traffic ingestion, payload decoding, telemetry processing, and analysis.
  • Develop research tools, automated pipelines, and AI-assisted workflows to improve the security research lifecycle.
  • Translate research discoveries and threat intelligence into production-grade protections across the Strata, Prisma, and Cortex portfolios.
  • Collaborate with engineering and research leaders on cross-functional security initiatives and platform integrations.
  • Mentor junior and mid-level researchers and serve as a subject matter expert to technical and executive stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 4–9 years of dedicated hands-on experience in security research, network security, and threat analysis.
  • Deep expertise in TCP/IP, HTTP/S, TLS, DNS, web APIs, and modern SaaS infrastructure.
  • Mastery of packet-level inspection and traffic-analysis tools such as Wireshark, Fiddler, OWASP ZAP, and Burp Suite.
  • Advanced proficiency in Python, Go, or JavaScript for production research tooling and automation pipelines.
  • Experience architecting scalable data processing, ingestion, and automation systems.
  • Demonstrated success leading high-impact security research programs from inception through deployment.
  • Expertise in emerging cyber threats, vulnerability research, and DLP/CASB techniques.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, critical-thinking, written communication, and technical documentation or presentation abilities.
  • Preferred: experience designing, deploying, and securing enterprise infrastructure on AWS, GCP, Azure, or OCI.
  • Preferred: practical experience applying machine learning, deep neural networks, or multi-agent systems to cybersecurity and threat detection.
  • Preferred: experience integrating LLMs, generative AI tools, and automated coding assistants into workflow automation and log analysis.
  • Preferred: foundational knowledge of modern web application frameworks and front-end architectures.
