Responsibilities
- Build, configure, and maintain Microsoft Azure platform infrastructure using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code practices.
- Operate and continuously improve the Azure Databricks platform, including configuration, automation, monitoring, access management, and troubleshooting.
- Operate and improve the Azure Kubernetes-based platform and support service deployment, management, and scaling.
- Implement platform changes and capabilities according to architecture patterns, security requirements, and engineering standards.
- Create reusable automation and self-service platform capabilities for engineering, Data, and AI teams.
- Monitor platform health, investigate operational issues, resolve standard support cases, and escalate complex problems when appropriate.
- Collaborate with Platform, Data, AI, MLOps, and Security colleagues on technical discussions, documentation, and improvements.
- Participate in architecture and design discussions and implement agreed solutions with support from experienced engineers.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and core cloud concepts including compute, networking, storage, identity, and security.
- Practical experience with containers and Kubernetes and an understanding of how containerized workloads are deployed and operated.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code, specifically Terraform; familiarity with Helm is an advantage.
- Experience creating or maintaining deployment pipelines and using Git-based development and delivery workflows.
- Familiarity with logging, monitoring, and troubleshooting production or platform environments, with the ability to resolve common operational issues independently.
- Experience with at least one programming or scripting language such as Python, Go, or Shell.
- Familiarity with Azure Databricks or similar Data and AI platforms, or strong motivation to develop hands-on expertise.
- Basic understanding of Data, Machine Learning, or AI workloads and their supporting infrastructure.
- Ability to organize work independently, take ownership, communicate progress and challenges, and seek input on unfamiliar or complex topics.
- Ability to collaborate with engineers and stakeholders, explain technical topics clearly, and contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing.
- Fluency in English; German language skills are a plus.
