Responsibilities
- Provide test leadership and direction within a multi-skilled software team.
- Develop testing strategy and ensure adequate coverage across application layers.
- Design, create, and maintain automated, manual, and non-functional tests.
- Configure testing tools within a continuous integration environment.
- Deliver working, sufficiently tested application software that meets user needs.
- Manage, coach, and develop a small number of staff, including setting objectives, giving feedback, and leading performance reviews.
- Interact with customers, share knowledge, and mentor colleagues.
Requirements
- Experience applying software testing principles and practices to ensure adequate test-layer coverage.
- Expertise designing, creating, and maintaining manual and automated test scripts and approaches, including non-functional testing.
- Experience with open-source test automation technologies such as Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, Cucumber, or Cypress.
- Experience configuring Jenkins and/or TeamCity for testing within continuous integration.
- Practical knowledge of at least one object-oriented programming language, such as Java.
- Strong technical awareness and understanding of software architectures.
- Experience managing others, setting objectives, giving feedback, and leading performance reviews.
- Desirable: experience as a Test Lead or similar on a medium-to-large Agile project.
- Desirable: stakeholder management and commercial awareness.
- Desirable: experience in defence, health, or public-sector environments.
