Responsibilities
- Implement kernel-mode and user-mode applications for UniFi Protect device firmware, from bootloader through user-space applications.
- Develop embedded Linux drivers and software across kernel and user modes.
- Implement features supporting hardware testing and diagnosis for embedded devices.
- Work with Linux Kernel, rootfs, WebSocket, RESTful API, and gRPC technologies as part of firmware development.
- Collaborate with electrical engineering, backend, frontend, mobile, QA, factory, and manufacturing teams.
- Deliver firmware work on tight schedules.
Requirements
- Proficiency in C and C++.
- Familiarity with Sigmastar or Ambarella platforms.
- Proficiency in video/audio streaming and transcoding.
- Understanding of and experience with ARM platforms.
- Experience with debuggers such as gdb and strace.
- Embedded software development experience, including Linux drivers and kernel- and user-mode development.
- Familiarity with shell, Python, or Node.js scripting.
- Familiarity with Git version control.
- BS or MS in Computer Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
- Ability to work collaboratively, stay self-motivated, solve difficult problems, and deliver on tight schedules.
- Nice to have: experience with Raspberry Pi, Arduino, or BeagleBoard development boards.
- Nice to have: experience with OpenWRT, Buildroot, or Yocto build systems.
- Nice to have: familiarity with GPIO, USB, UART, PWM, flash, SPI, and I2C hardware protocols.
- Applicants must live in Sweden and hold a valid work permit at the time of application.
