Responsibilities
- Build and improve search, review, and AI-powered agent features for accuracy and consistency.
- Develop reliable user-facing features in the Next.js/React application.
- Build backend APIs, data models, and workflow execution paths supporting frontend experiences.
- Write maintainable production code and contribute to system design and architecture.
- Own features and technical problems from initial idea through implementation.
- Collaborate with engineers, product teammates, and users to translate problems into product improvements.
- Learn the codebase quickly and take on increasing ownership with mentorship from experienced engineers.
Requirements
- US citizenship is required because the role supports US government contract obligations and ITAR/EAR export-control requirements.
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Strong computer science fundamentals and demonstrated software engineering ability through internships, coursework, research, projects, or other experience.
- Proficiency in at least one modern programming language and willingness to work across Python and TypeScript/React.
- Strong problem-solving, learning, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
- Product-minded, proactive, high-ownership approach with willingness to tackle challenging and ambiguous problems.
- Preferred qualifications include prior software engineering or shipped-software experience, experience with LLMs, AI agents, RAG, backend systems, APIs, databases, distributed systems, document processing, search/retrieval, open source, research, technical clubs, hackathons, startups, or substantial personal projects.
- Interest in defense, intelligence, national security, or complex operational domains is preferred; active or current security clearance is a nice-to-have.
