Base Salary
$120k - $135k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain production-quality backend and frontend software components.
- Build APIs, business logic, data access layers, and user interfaces while implementing new features and refactoring legacy functionality.
- Modernize legacy Java applications such as Struts and JBoss applications into Spring Boot services and decompose monolithic systems into modular services.
- Develop Java and Spring Boot APIs, implement Hibernate/JPA data access, and support database modernization, schema evolution, and data migration.
- Build and maintain React applications with TypeScript and integrate secure backend services.
- Implement authentication and authorization with IAM solutions such as Keycloak, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and role-based access control.
- Write unit, integration, and regression tests and apply logging, error handling, observability, monitoring, and production-readiness practices.
- Collaborate with technical leads, product owners, UX, backend, and DevOps teams through the full software development lifecycle.
- Participate in planning, refinement, estimation, retrospectives, code reviews, documentation, and knowledge sharing.
- Diagnose defects, maintain data integrity and backward compatibility, communicate risks and progress, and improve performance, automation, and scalability.
Requirements
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- At least five years of professional software development experience as an individual contributor.
- Strong hands-on Java and Spring Boot expertise.
- Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs and proficiency with JUnit or similar testing frameworks.
- Experience with Angular version 2 or later and TypeScript for integrating frontend and backend features.
- Relational database experience with PostgreSQL and/or Oracle, including SQL, schema design, and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency with Git and Jira.
- Ability to conduct code reviews, maintain code quality, receive and apply coaching, identify risks, solve problems, and communicate clearly with diverse audiences.
