Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership, subject-matter expertise, and mentorship within a geographically distributed engineering team.
  • Design, build, scale, and optimize secure, reliable, and highly available cloud infrastructure.
  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code and deployment automation using Jenkins, Ansible, Argo CD, Terraform, CloudFormation, Resource Manager, and related tools.
  • Design and implement AWS networking, security, hybrid-cloud connectivity, and multi-region architectures.
  • Build, manage, and scale Kubernetes/EKS environments, including cluster architecture, service mesh, load balancing, and performance optimization.
  • Develop monitoring and observability solutions primarily using Prometheus and maintain technical documentation.
  • Troubleshoot production infrastructure and networking issues, improve system performance, participate in on-call rotations, and develop automation tooling using Go, Python, Rust, and Bash.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.
  • Demonstrated technical and project leadership experience working with geographically distributed teams.
  • Deep expertise in AWS networking services, including Amazon VPC, Direct Connect, Transit Gateway, Elastic Load Balancing, Route 53, Resolver endpoints, and DNS Firewall.
  • Strong knowledge of AWS network security, including Security Groups, Network ACLs, AWS Firewall, and VPC Flow Logs.
  • Experience designing and supporting hybrid-cloud connectivity and multi-region architectures, including VPNs and Direct Connect.
  • Advanced Linux/UNIX systems expertise covering troubleshooting, performance tuning, memory management, I/O subsystems, RAID, networking protocols, security, and system optimization.
  • Hands-on experience with DevOps, Infrastructure as Code, and automation using Terraform, Ansible, and Chef.
  • Experience implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or similar platforms.
  • Strong programming and scripting skills in Go, Python, and Bash, with familiarity with MySQL and PostgreSQL.
  • Experience managing containerized applications and orchestration platforms including Docker, Kubernetes, Mesos, or Docker Swarm, plus knowledge of AWS, Azure, and GCP.
  • Ability to participate in on-call rotations and troubleshoot production infrastructure and networking issues.

Benefits

  • Standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM–3:30 PM PST.
  • Participation in an on-call rotation approximately every two months once fully staffed, or every 5–6 weeks during the initial staffing period.
  • Vancouver base pay range is $127,000–$203,000 CAD, with possible eligibility for a discretionary annual incentive program.
