Base Salary
$138k - $185k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, troubleshoot, review, and debug secure, high-quality production software.
- Build enterprise-scale solutions using Java, web frameworks, databases, microservices, cloud-native architecture, and RESTful APIs.
- Identify opportunities to automate recurring remediation and improve operational stability.
- Lead evaluations of vendor, startup, and internal architectural solutions.
- Drive team adoption of approved AI-assisted engineering practices with validation standards for correctness, performance, and security.
- Lead software engineering communities of practice and promote new technologies and effective engineering patterns.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of hands-on software development lifecycle experience.
- Experience with Java, SQL, UI frameworks, design patterns, microservices, cloud-native architecture, Angular or React, and RESTful APIs.
- Experience with SQL performance tuning, JDBC, ORM frameworks such as Hibernate and JPA, and SQL and NoSQL datastores including Oracle and MongoDB.
- Deep knowledge of caching technologies such as Elasticsearch and Redis.
- Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment.
- Experience leading the effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools and validating their outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure input and output handling, resiliency, and security expectations, including coaching engineers on compliant adoption.
- Understanding of CI/CD, application resiliency, security, unit testing with JUnit and Mockito, and messaging platforms such as Apache Kafka.
- Preferred familiarity with DevOps practices, containerization, orchestration, Copilot, Claude, and AWS.
