Responsibilities
- Architect and implement payment processing, fraud detection, and compliance systems handling millions of dollars daily.
- Coordinate interactions across payments, fraud detection, user management, compliance, and external services.
- Lead platform-wide architecture decisions and establish engineering best practices.
- Mentor junior engineers and establish coding standards, design patterns, and engineering practices.
- Improve reliability and performance across the distributed services architecture.
- Collaborate with product and compliance teams to meet business and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience building complex production systems.
- Demonstrated systems engineering experience solving complex, cross-domain challenges.
- Strong foundation in algorithms, data structures, and computer science fundamentals.
- Experience with distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and microservices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field required.
- Master’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering is highly preferred.
- Experience with Python, backend web frameworks, APIs, NoSQL and SQL databases, and Google Cloud Platform or similar cloud platforms.
- Understanding of domain-driven design, clean architecture, CQRS, and system design tradeoffs.
- Preferred experience includes financial systems, AML, KYC, PCI DSS, financial APIs, money movement systems, high-volume transaction systems, and third-party integrations.
