Responsibilities
- Implement small frontend features, bug fixes, forms, content displays, and UI improvements in React and TypeScript.
- Fix bugs and implement small features in C# or Java backend services, including API endpoints, database queries, and business logic.
- Maintain and support JLL.com AEM and WordPress installations and improve customer-facing applications.
- Write unit and integration tests, improve test coverage, participate in code reviews, and maintain documentation.
- Debug frontend, backend, and production issues using browser tools, logs, debuggers, and systematic investigation.
- Learn and assist with integrations, deployment processes, infrastructure concepts, and customer-facing application on-call support.
- Experiment with LLM APIs, agents, prompt engineering, and AI proof-of-concepts, documenting results and learnings.
- Pair with and learn from senior engineers while taking on increasingly complex work.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent bootcamp/self-taught experience with a competency-demonstrating portfolio.
- 0–2 years of professional software engineering experience or recent graduate status with solid foundational knowledge.
- Hands-on experience with C# or Java and fundamental understanding of programming and object-oriented concepts.
- Some experience with React and TypeScript, or willingness to learn them quickly, plus basic HTML, CSS, and JavaScript knowledge.
- Basic relational database knowledge and ability to write simple SQL queries.
- Experience with Git and basic version-control workflows such as branching and merging.
- Ability to debug backend and frontend code, interpret errors and logs, and systematically investigate problems.
- Experience writing code reviewed by others and willingness to receive feedback and iterate.
- Interest in AI tools, LLMs, generative AI, agents, and experimenting with AI-centric solutions.
- Proficiency in written and verbal English for a remote and largely asynchronous work environment.
- Preferred experience includes academic or bootcamp full-stack projects, GitHub, frontend or backend testing frameworks, PostgreSQL or MySQL, React state management, CSS frameworks, backend frameworks, cloud platforms, Docker, and AI tools.
