Responsibilities
- Build components and features within established microservice, event-driven, or component-based architectures.
- Write clean, compilable code and unit tests that meet team quality standards.
- Identify, reproduce, and fix bugs in well-defined tasks with guidance from senior engineers.
- Handle low-priority support tickets and participate in supervised on-call rotations and incident checks.
- Add error and information logging to support basic observability and debugging.
- Contribute through the full development lifecycle, including design discussions, testing, deployment, production support, and documentation.
- Update Jira, follow the team’s Definition of Done and ticket processes, and participate in standups, backlog grooming, demos, and code reviews.
- Use AI tools such as Cursor responsibly while validating the quality of generated output.
Requirements
- B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, software engineering, or a related field from a reputed institution.
- 0 to 1 year of professional experience.
- Proficiency in at least one of Java, Python, or TypeScript/JavaScript, with an understanding of maintainable code.
- Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, software design, and unit testing.
- Basic understanding of IAM, role-based access control, secrets management, and applicable compliance requirements such as PCI or SOC.
- Familiarity with Git, pull requests, and deploying to an existing CI/CD pipeline.
- Ability to ask focused questions, communicate risks, receive code review feedback, learn team standards, and collaborate across functions.
- Preferred: internship or co-op experience shipping code, cloud familiarity, Docker exposure, experience with existing codebases, and awareness of AI tools beyond code completion.
