Base Salary
$214k - $310k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver software for L2/L3 forwarding in Cisco Nexus 9000 data-center switches.
- Lead technical design and implementation of major features from conception through completion.
- Debug and resolve software issues during development and in production systems.
- Define technical vision, engineering priorities, design standards, and software development strategies across teams.
- Drive issue identification, proactive tooling, sustainable production response, and continuous improvement.
- Lead, mentor, and influence senior engineers while improving knowledge-sharing processes.
- Partner with design, product management, customers, and cross-functional stakeholders to align technical priorities and product direction.
- Create technical and user documentation and communicate product priorities, trade-offs, and requirements.
- Represent team outputs at external events when appropriate.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree plus 12 years of related experience, or master’s degree plus 8 years, or PhD plus 5 years.
- At least 5 years of experience in the networking domain.
- Proficiency in C/C++ programming in a Linux environment.
- Experience with L2/L3 forwarding concepts and familiarity with datapath architecture within ASICs.
- Proven experience developing features for network switches and routers.
- Preferred: experience with VXLAN or other overlay technologies.
- Preferred: experience designing and maintaining scalable infrastructure automation using Python.
- Preferred: comfort using AI tools such as CoPilot and Cursor.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for aligning technical and non-technical stakeholders.

- Starting salary range of $214,100.00 to $309,800.00, excluding incentive compensation, equity, and benefits.
