Base Salary
$175k - $220k/yr
Responsibilities
- Architect and build scalable, fault-tolerant traffic and networking services, including ingress, egress, load balancing, routing, and quality-of-service controls.
- Lead technical design discussions, mentor engineers, and establish best practices for operating large-scale infrastructure.
- Optimize networks inside and outside data centers by reducing costs, tuning performance, and removing scaling bottlenecks.
- Evaluate and integrate cloud-native and open-source technologies to strengthen platform capabilities and reliability.
- Own systems end to end from design through deployment and observability, with emphasis on high availability and disaster recovery.
- Develop and maintain monitoring, alerting, logging, and tracing for system health and performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 5 years of experience building backend or network infrastructure in cloud environments.
- Strong software development skills in Go, C++, Rust, Java, or Python.
- Deep understanding of distributed systems, networking fundamentals, and performance optimization.
- Experience owning the full product lifecycle from design through production.
- Preferred: Master’s or PhD in Computer Science or a related field.
- Preferred: hands-on experience with traffic or edge engineering, service mesh, cloud networking, Envoy, Istio, or DPDK.
- Preferred: deep Kubernetes experience, including ingress, network policy, and custom controllers.
- Preferred: experience improving performance, reliability, and cost efficiency on high-throughput systems.
- Preferred: experience leading cross-team projects and coaching distributed engineers.
