Responsibilities

  • Manage production and development infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform and AWS, including Kubernetes clusters, cloud storage, and identity and access management.
  • Design, write, and deploy infrastructure-as-code using tools such as Terraform or Pulumi.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for applications and data workflows using GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps.
  • Create, maintain, and monitor data ingestion and delivery pipelines using Argo Workflows.
  • Monitor system health, performance, and resource usage; perform root cause analysis, deploy fixes, and provide Level 2 technical support.
  • Participate in blameless post-mortems, continuous platform improvement, and shared rota-based out-of-hours emergency on-call.
  • Collaborate with Data Scientists, Software Engineers, and Product Owners to deliver scalable, reliable, and secure solutions.

Requirements

  • Professional experience with a major cloud provider such as GCP, AWS, or Azure; GCP and AWS experience is especially valuable.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code principles and tools such as Terraform, Pulumi, or Ansible.
  • Knowledge of continuous integration and continuous delivery workflows.
  • Working knowledge of SQL and experience with relational databases or data warehouses.
  • Proficiency in a scripting language such as Python or Bash and comfort with the Unix/Linux command line, including grep, awk, and sed.
  • Familiarity with data workflows and tools such as Argo Workflows.
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency with Git and collaborative workflows such as pull requests and code reviews is desirable.
  • Experience with Windows IIS, NoSQL databases such as MongoDB or DynamoDB, and tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps is desirable.
  • Understanding of networking principles including TCP/IP, DNS, and HTTP, plus awareness of cloud security and privacy best practices.
