Responsibilities
- Own the design, implementation, and operation of core components of the conversational discovery platform.
- Design hybrid LLM and traditional personalization and ranking approaches for content discovery and recommendations.
- Prototype, evaluate, and productionize personalized conversation starters, natural-language query understanding, multi-turn dialogue, and contextual recommendations.
- Optimize LLM inference for latency, cost, and quality at massive scale.
- Build quality-gating and evaluation mechanisms covering relevance, personalization, diversity, and safety.
- Contribute substantial production code, conduct code reviews, and raise engineering standards.
- Participate in on-call operations, root cause analysis, and reliability improvements for Tier-1 customer-facing AI systems.
- Collaborate across teams to integrate inference infrastructure, feature storage, and experimentation platforms.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- At least 5 years of programming experience with at least one programming language.
- At least 5 years of leading the design or architecture of new and existing systems, including reliability and scaling.
- Experience mentoring, serving as a tech lead, or leading an engineering team.
- Preferred: at least 5 years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Preferred: bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
