Responsibilities
- Own and deliver quarterly goals for the team while leading engineers through ambiguous, open-ended problems.
- Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics during ideation and product development decisions.
- Identify and lead resolution of project, process, technology, and business issues.
- Support artifact operations and availability through metrics, escalation, and on-call efforts.
- Set and improve code review and design standards and advocate for them through writing and technical talks.
- Develop team talent through feedback, guidance, and leading by example.
- Build scalable international servicing solutions for purchase protection, disputes, and refunds.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of experience as a software engineer.
- Experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale using technologies such as Python, Kotlin, AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
- Experience shipping web applications with declarative UI frameworks such as React or Vue.
- Ability to define technical plans for significant features or system components and create simple, extensible designs.
- Ability to make significant changes safely in a large codebase using appropriate tools and practices.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaboration with a global engineering team.
- Demonstrated ownership of professional growth and proactive feedback seeking.
