Base Salary
$215k - $307k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the data model strategy and long-term architecture for Work Profiles and Communities.
- Own API contracts, versioning, compatibility, and governance across the Affiliation Profile API, Work Profile APIs, and OIDC extensions.
- Set technical direction and design standards for scalable, self-service community and profile delivery.
- Define and evolve configuration-driven eligibility rules, assurance tiers, validation mechanisms, and attribute mappings.
- Lead modular validation mechanisms including email-domain checks, ownership matching, document verification, enterprise SSO, and registry integrations.
- Mentor staff and senior engineers in data modeling, API design, and identity profile architecture.
- Lead profile lifecycle management covering issuance, expiration, revocation, and revalidation.
- Ensure security, privacy, compliance, and auditability requirements are incorporated into high-assurance use cases.
- Represent Work Profiles and Communities in platform-wide architecture decisions and cross-functional technical forums.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software engineering experience, including significant experience as a recognized technical authority for a complex domain spanning multiple systems.
- Deep expertise in data modeling, schemas, entity-attribute relationships, and affiliation models at scale.
- Proven experience designing and owning APIs and data contracts for source-of-truth systems, including versioning, compatibility, and governance.
- Demonstrated ability to set technical strategy and align engineering teams without direct authority.
- Experience designing configuration-driven or rules-driven systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- Preferred experience modeling person-to-organization or person-to-credential relationships and building reusable affiliation systems.
- Preferred experience designing factory-like or self-service configuration platforms.
- Preferred expertise in NIST 800-63 IAL2/AAL2, OIDC, OAuth 2.0, graph databases, Verifiable Credentials, and Decentralized Identifiers.
- Experience in regulated environments and with cloud-native infrastructure using GCP, AWS, or Azure is valuable.
- Excellent communication skills and a record of influencing technical direction across an organization.
