Responsibilities
- Define evidence-based readiness criteria for regional launches, traffic migrations, and failovers.
- Identify and mitigate risks on critical payment paths using system data and measurable platform mitigations.
- Lead cross-functional delivery of new-region infrastructure and safe service behaviors for remote control planes.
- Build reusable validation tooling for infrastructure integration and blocker reduction.
- Turn recurring operational friction into scalable platform capabilities used across teams.
- Lead technical discussions and decision mechanisms across Core Infrastructure and product teams.
- Develop and communicate REP’s multi-year technical strategy, quarterly milestones, and success metrics.
- Debug production issues across services and levels of the stack.
- Mentor and grow senior engineers and improve technical planning, design standards, and cross-region execution from Bangalore.
- Collaborate across AMER, EU, and APAC in a global, distributed environment with asynchronous decision-making.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science or an equivalent field, or equivalent experience.
- 12+ years of professional experience in software or infrastructure engineering.
- Track record leading complex cross-team or company-wide infrastructure projects with high reliability and scale requirements.
- Strong background in distributed systems, platform engineering, or backend infrastructure, with emphasis on operational safety and correctness.
- Experience optimizing distributed-system reliability and security and scaling or migrating systems with little to no downtime.
- Strong technical judgment and written communication skills, including design documents and trade-off analysis.
- Experience mentoring engineers at various career stages.
- Experience with at least one major cloud provider: AWS, Azure, OCI, or GCP.
- Familiarity with operations culture and metrics, alarms, and dashboards.
- Preferred experience validating large-scale migrations, failovers, regional launches, regionalization, or control-plane behavior.
- Preferred experience with strict reliability, correctness, latency, or availability requirements; observability; networking; service discovery; traffic routing; databases; Kubernetes; Terraform; or cloud infrastructure.
- Preferred experience reducing packet loss, network latency, cross-region dependency risk, or other infrastructure failure modes.
- Preferred experience making infrastructure validation and readiness evidence usable by service owners, operators, or partner teams.
- Preferred experience turning recurring operational problems into reusable tools, standards, or platform mechanisms.
- 3+ years of experience with Go.
