Base Salary
$150k - $300k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs using Node.js and TypeScript.
- Improve infrastructure supporting trading, account management, transaction processing, and portfolio automation.
- Ensure high availability, performance, and security across backend systems.
- Build internal tools, data pipelines, and system integrations.
- Extend DevOps and infrastructure capabilities for deployment automation, observability, monitoring, and incident response.
- Champion code quality, system design, testing, and documentation practices.
- Mentor junior engineers and lead architectural initiatives across the backend domain.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of professional experience building backend systems in TypeScript or comparable languages, with Node.js preferred.
- Strong fundamentals in APIs, microservices, distributed systems, data stores, caching, and messaging systems.
- Experience with database design across SQL and NoSQL systems, scaling patterns, performance optimization, and observability.
- Deep experience with AWS, GCP, and Azure cloud platforms and infrastructure as code.
- Understanding of backend security practices including authentication, authorization, and data protection.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate in a fast-paced environment.
- Preferred experience includes financial or real-time services, portfolio automation, trading or financial data systems, ownership of mission-critical backend infrastructure, and scaling high-throughput applications used by tens of thousands of users.
