Base Salary
$202k - $224k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and scale distributed backend systems and real-time algorithms for bot detection and DDoS mitigation.
- Use real-time streaming frameworks and machine learning capabilities to analyze network telemetry and identify anomalies.
- Automate network access controls, segmentation policies, and edge security configurations using Terraform.
- Improve security visibility, logging, and metrics in container-based and cloud-native environments.
- Monitor network traffic and security dashboards, respond to security incidents, and partner with engineering teams on threat resolution.
- Conduct code and design reviews, establish operational runbooks, and mentor junior engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of professional full-time experience in software engineering, cybersecurity, or network security engineering.
- Proficiency in at least one production programming language: Go or Java.
- Deep understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S, firewalls, proxies, VPNs, and network segmentation.
- Experience with cloud technologies and containerization, including examples such as AWS, GCP, OCI, Docker, or Kubernetes.
- Preferred experience in network security, cybersecurity, bot detection, or large-scale DDoS mitigation.
- Preferred experience incorporating AI/ML models into production systems and using real-time streaming frameworks such as Apache Flink or Kafka.
- Experience with SASE platforms such as Zscaler is preferred; CISSP or CCNP certification is a plus.

- Base salary range of USD $202,000-$224,000 per year, plus potential bonus and equity awards.
