Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and manage enterprise-scale API solutions with Apigee and Azure API Management.
- Lead API migration and modernization initiatives from Apigee to Azure API Management, including policy migration, automation, testing, and validation.
- Build self-service API onboarding and management capabilities for development teams.
- Develop Terraform infrastructure-as-code solutions for API platform provisioning and lifecycle management.
- Create automation frameworks for API deployment, policy management, environment provisioning, and operational workflows.
- Build and maintain GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines for reliable deployments.
- Define API standards and governance with platform, application, security, and architecture teams.
- Implement API security, traffic management, observability, monitoring, and performance optimization.
- Troubleshoot integration and platform issues across development, test, and production environments.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 6–10 years of experience in API engineering, integration engineering, or software engineering roles.
- Hands-on experience with Apigee and Azure API Management.
- Strong expertise in Terraform and experience with API migration and modernization programs.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals and system design skills.
- Experience developing automation solutions and developer self-service capabilities.
- Programming experience in Node.js, Python, or C#.
- Experience with GitHub Actions or GitHub Pipelines and modern CI/CD practices.
- Understanding of REST APIs, API lifecycle management, OAuth2, OpenID Connect, JWT, and API security best practices.
- Experience with Git-based development workflows.
- Preferred: understanding of Azure infrastructure and cloud services, Azure-native services, cloud architecture patterns, platform engineering, developer experience initiatives, and API observability or monitoring tools.
