Responsibilities
- Develop highly scalable and efficient applications using Java and Google Cloud Platform.
- Build containerized applications using Docker and orchestrate workloads with Kubernetes on GCP or Azure.
- Implement event-driven systems using GCP Pub/Sub and Kafka.
- Design composable architectures using domain modeling, services, microservices, Istio service mesh, and circuit-breaker patterns.
- Work with frontend micro-frontend frameworks using Webpack 5 and module federation.
- Use SQL and NoSQL database technologies including PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cassandra, and Redis.
- Automate CI/CD pipelines with quality gates and automated testing tools.
- Implement observability and insights using OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, or equivalent tools.
- Create documentation as code using Backstage.io and source repository plugins.
- Identify and resolve technical issues, influence solution outcomes, and make autonomous decisions within organizational constraints.
- Translate business goals into technology solutions and work across development, support, software design, and environment configuration functions.
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of experience developing highly scalable and efficient applications.
- Strong Java and Google Cloud Platform experience.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, GKE, and/or Azure AKS.
- Experience with GCP Pub/Sub, Kafka, Istio, Webpack 5, module federation, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cassandra, and Redis.
- Experience automating CI/CD pipelines and using automated testing, quality, and observability tools.
- Knowledge of coding standards, source control techniques, and documentation practices.
- Experience in more than one service delivery function, such as development, support, software design, or environment configuration.
- Broad technology knowledge or expert-level depth in a single technology.
- Experience working in matrix-managed environments with contractors and outsourced vendors.
- Strong problem-solving, judgment, communication, teamwork, adaptability, and technical documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently, influence technical project outcomes, and take the lead in resolving domain issues.
