Responsibilities
- Develop highly scalable and efficient applications using Java and Google Cloud Platform.
- Containerize applications with Docker and orchestrate services using Kubernetes on GCP or Azure.
- Implement event handling with GCP Pub/Sub and Kafka.
- Design composable, domain-modeled, service-oriented, and microservice architectures.
- Develop CI/CD pipeline automation with quality gates and automated testing.
- Implement observability and insights using distributed tracing, metrics, and visualization tools.
- Create documentation as code and integrate documentation with source repositories.
- Translate business goals into technology solutions and influence technical project outcomes.
- Independently resolve technical issues within the role’s domain across organizational boundaries.
- Work across development, support, software design, and environment configuration functions.
Requirements
- Minimum 10+ years of experience developing highly scalable and efficient applications.
- Strong programming background in Java and experience with Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, GKE and/or Azure AKS.
- Experience with GCP Pub/Sub, Kafka, service mesh, Istio, and circuit-breaker patterns.
- Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL database technologies, including cloud-based implementations.
- Experience with CI/CD automation, automated testing, observability, source control, and documentation tooling.
- Experience in at least two service delivery functions, such as development, support, software design, or environment configuration.
- Ability to work independently, exercise technical judgment, influence outcomes, and resolve problems proactively.
- Strong communication, teamwork, adaptability, and documentation skills.
- Experience working in matrix-managed environments with contractors and outsourced vendors.
