Base Salary
$190k - $250k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and operate backend systems for Arbiter’s agent-driven workflows.
- Ship and maintain production-grade AI systems with strict reliability and performance requirements.
- Contribute to the architectural design emphasizing scalability and integration with external services.
- Ensure high performance and fault tolerance across backend services and AI inference pipelines.
- Implement best practices for CI/CD, testing, and deployment of backend and AI systems.
- Collaborate with data scientists, product managers, and clinical experts to solve high-impact problems.
- Mentor engineers and contribute to internal documentation and technical standards.
- Take ownership of critical systems and participate in on-call rotations.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience building and operating production backend systems.
- Degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience with large-scale Python codebases and strong opinions on code quality.
- Proven experience designing and operating complex backend systems in production.
- Deep understanding of concurrency, scalability, and distributed systems patterns.
- Hands-on experience with async or event-driven architectures.
- Experience designing high-scale APIs (REST and/or gRPC).
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Experience building AI-powered systems beyond prototypes.
- Strong communication skills for effective cross-functional collaboration.
