Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of APIs, data access layers, integrations, and backend services.
- Mentor engineers, guide design reviews, influence architecture decisions, and enforce coding standards.
- Collaborate with Product, Architecture, Frontend, and Data teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Drive test coverage, CI/CD practices, observability, automation, and reductions in operational toil.
- Apply secure coding practices, support audits, and improve developer experience and technical excellence.
Requirements
- 9+ years of professional backend development experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership or mentoring capacity.
- Expertise building backend services and APIs with .NET/C# or Python.
- Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MongoDB, Azure, Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, RabbitMQ, and Azure Service Bus.
- Experience with automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, code reviews, security fundamentals, and observability practices.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Fluency in English and the ability to lead distributed teams and drive technical excellence.
- Preferred qualifications include experience with microservices, DDD, CQRS, event-driven architectures, GraphQL, gRPC, API gateways, Redis, regulated or financial-services environments, and Terraform or Bicep.
