Responsibilities
- Lead troubleshooting of complex power and thermal software issues across Snapdragon platforms and Android, Linux, QNX, and other operating environments.
- Analyze system-wide power-management flows across HLOS, non-HLOS, hypervisors, chipset components, and platform hardware.
- Provide customer application, workload, and system architecture recommendations, including patches, workarounds, and implementation guidance.
- Lead root-cause analysis, issue reproduction, log and trace analysis, system characterization, and corrective-action planning.
- Engage customers, Tier-1/Tier-2 partners, chipset power teams, thermal teams, architects, product managers, and regional customer engineering organizations.
- Perform power, thermal, performance, and workload characterization for AI, multimedia, connectivity, automotive, and compute use cases.
- Support workload and monitoring tools, power measurements, hardware-level analysis, SoC register analysis, and APDP generation.
- Create debug guides, architecture documentation, training materials, diagnostics, and reusable technical content.
- Conduct technical training and workshops and mentor junior and early-career engineers.
- Influence architecture and feature improvements through customer and platform experience.
Requirements
- B.E./B.Tech with 8+ years, M.Tech/M.S. with 6+ years, or Ph.D. with 4+ years in Software Applications Engineering, Embedded Systems, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in a customer-facing technical role.
- At least 3 years of experience with C, C++, Python, or similar programming languages.
- At least 3 years of embedded software debugging and system-level issue resolution experience.
- Strong understanding of Linux or Android power-management fundamentals and hands-on experience across HLOS and non-HLOS components.
- Experience with Linux, Android, QNX, or another embedded/real-time operating system and with suspend, resume, shutdown, wakeup, or low-power features.
- Experience analyzing logs, traces, performance data, and power or thermal measurement results.
- Demonstrated technical leadership, mentoring, communication, customer collaboration, and cross-functional problem-solving skills.
- Preferred experience includes Snapdragon power and thermal software, S2R, DSQB/Dynamic Sleep, PCM, runtime power management, TrustZone, AOP, RPMh, power-management firmware, hypervisors, virtualization, BSPs, device drivers, kernel subsystems, and embedded SoC architecture.
- Preferred experience includes JTAG, TRACE32, ftrace, systrace, perf, Trepn, SimplePerf, QPT, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, ARM architecture, and automotive or compute platforms.
