Responsibilities

  • Define validation scope with systems and software engineers.
  • Decompose requirements and create test cases, test plans, and test scripts.
  • Determine hardware specifications, laboratory setups, and test-bench configurations.
  • Execute test plans and document objective evidence and technical results.
  • Diagnose setup and testing issues and collaborate on findings.
  • Use communication protocols, protocol analyzers, sniffer tools, and bit- and byte-level testing techniques.
  • Log defects, monitor their status, and retest fixes through resolution.
  • Perform Hardware-in-the-Loop and Software-in-the-Loop testing.
  • Conduct user interface testing and identify opportunities to automate testing.
  • Prepare invention disclosures and maintain accurate project documentation according to engineering policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, computer science, or electronics from a reputed institute or university, with academic performance of at least 70%.
  • 2–3 years of work experience in software or system validation.
  • Experience in the locomotive, aerospace, or automotive domain.
  • Knowledge of communication protocols including RS232, RS485, RS422, TCP, UDP, and MODBUS.
  • Practical experience with protocol analyzers, bit- and byte-level testing, and sniffer tools.
  • Familiarity with design, test, and analysis tools and systems.
  • Knowledge or familiarity with DOORS, IBM Quality Manager, and CLM.
  • Working knowledge of user interface testing and scripting languages or tools such as Python, LabVIEW, and TestStand.
  • Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal, analytical, decision-making, and leadership skills.
