Responsibilities
- Own and deliver quarterly goals for the Recoveries team while leading engineers through ambiguous, open-ended problems.
- Collaborate with product management, design, analytics, and risk stakeholders on ideation, technical constraints, and trade-off decisions.
- Identify and lead resolution of project, process, technology, and business issues.
- Support artifact availability and operations by creating and monitoring metrics, escalating issues, and participating in on-call and keep-the-lights-on efforts.
- Set and improve code review and design standards and advocate for quality and ownership through writing and technical talks.
- Develop team talent through feedback, guidance, and leading by example.
- Build and operate recovery platform capabilities that manage loans through the final phase of their lifecycle and minimize discrepancies with business partner systems.
Requirements
- 4+ years of software engineering experience.
- Experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale using technologies such as Python, Kotlin, AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
- Experience shipping web applications with declarative UI frameworks such as React or Vue.
- Experience designing, implementing, and operating batch processing or asynchronous workloads, including scheduled jobs, backfills, and large-scale data processing.
- Strong focus on correctness, observability, and failure handling.
- Ability to define technical plans for significant features or system components using simple, elegant, and extensible designs.
- Ability to make significant changes safely in large codebases and develop supporting tools and practices.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaboration with a global engineering team.
- Demonstrated ownership of professional growth and willingness to seek feedback.
