Responsibilities
- Design observability capabilities for application health and platform performance.
- Build scalable collection pipelines for metrics, logs, and traces.
- Develop actionable alerting standards to improve incident response.
- Partner with teams to define service health indicators and enhance operational readiness.
- Automate monitoring configuration and dashboard deployment for consistent observability.
- Analyze production incidents to identify telemetry gaps and improve recovery processes.
- Create dashboards and reporting views to understand trends and reliability outcomes.
- Establish observability patterns and self-service guidance for engineers.
Requirements
- 5-17 years of experience in observability or related engineering roles.
- Experience with Datadog and Python programming.
- Practical experience designing telemetry solutions for metrics and logs.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems and cloud environments.
- Proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language for automation.
- Experience deploying observability patterns in high availability environments.
- Ability to troubleshoot production issues across various systems.
- Strong communication skills for collaboration across global teams.
