Base Salary
$121k - $163k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain sophisticated server-side applications using Scala and Java.
- Create robust, scalable APIs and implement complex business logic and efficient data processing.
- Support distributed systems and ensure backend software reliability, scalability, data integrity, and security.
- Perform requirements analysis, system architecture design, technical specification development, and performance optimization.
- Use Git, Maven, SQL databases, and unit testing practices in backend development.
- Participate in design reviews, system integration, and testing efforts.
- Analyze and resolve complex technical problems independently.
- Provide mentorship and leadership to junior team members.
Requirements
- Technical training, certification, or degree with 5+ years of relevant experience.
- 10+ years of hands-on Java software development experience.
- 5+ years of hands-on Scala programming development experience.
- Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and applying functional programming paradigms.
- Experience with distributed systems, Git, Maven, and SQL databases.
- Knowledge of AWS, Azure, or GCP and containerization technologies such as OpenShift.
- Ability to obtain a T4 Public Trust clearance.
- Must have lived in the United States for at least three of the last five years.
- Preferred: experience with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
- Preferred: familiarity with Angular or React and supporting full-stack work.
