Responsibilities
- Lead architecture decisions for the internal operational platform and connected tooling.
- Define engineering standards, code quality practices, and development patterns for the team.
- Build and maintain full-stack applications using Java/Spring Boot and React/TypeScript.
- Convert MVPs and prototypes into clean, production-ready services with typed APIs, authentication, persistence, and observability.
- Design PostgreSQL schemas, manage Liquibase migrations, and integrate BigQuery reads and publishing layers.
- Champion OpenAPI-first development and typed frontend API clients.
- Own backend observability using Actuator, Prometheus, and structured logs.
- Partner with business stakeholders to preserve product intent while improving technical quality.
- Evaluate, refactor, and productionize AI-generated code.
Requirements
- Strong backend experience with Java 21, Spring Boot 3.x, PostgreSQL, Liquibase, Spring Security, Actuator, and Prometheus.
- Experience with REST/OpenAPI contract-first development and OpenAPI-first API client workflows.
- Experience building React and TypeScript frontends with API-driven UIs and server-state management such as TanStack Query.
- Experience with BigQuery or a similar data warehouse, including versioned data, source-of-truth boundaries, freshness, and cache/fallback behavior.
- Experience defining backend architecture standards, working in multi-module Maven projects, or integrating legacy systems without rewriting them is a bonus.
- Experience with Google APIs such as Sheets, Drive, or BigQuery is a nice-to-have.
- Experience with workflow automation tools such as n8n is a nice-to-have.
- Hands-on experience building with LLM tools and APIs such as OpenAI, Claude/Anthropic, Cursor, Replit AI, or similar.
- Strong judgment in evaluating and refactoring AI-generated code into a clean, maintainable production stack.
