Responsibilities

  • Own and improve browser-based 3D rendering in NavVis IVION using Three.js, WebGL, shaders, and custom rendering pipelines.
  • Optimize rendering performance and visual quality through occlusion culling, adaptive refinement, level-of-detail strategies, and GPU memory management.
  • Ensure reliable rendering across high-end workstations, laptops with integrated GPUs, and restricted corporate browsers.
  • Improve streaming efficiency through spatial indexing, tiling, compression, caching, and progressive loading.
  • Collaborate across C++ data processing, Java backend services, storage, and frontend rendering.
  • Shape rendering architecture and evaluate WebGPU, compute shaders, and modern graphics techniques.

Requirements

  • Strong experience with real-time 3D graphics for the web, particularly WebGL2, Three.js, GLSL shaders, and custom rendering pipelines.
  • Solid knowledge of 3D mathematics, coordinate systems, transformations, projections, octrees, BVHs, KD-trees, level of detail, and culling techniques.
  • Experience rendering and streaming large-scale 3D datasets such as point clouds, meshes, or 3D Gaussian Splats, including spatial indexing, tiling, caching, and memory management.
  • Strong GPU, CPU, and networking performance optimization skills using profiling, benchmarking, and systematic bottleneck analysis.
  • Proficiency in TypeScript and experience maintaining complex, performance-critical web applications.
  • Nice-to-have experience with WebGPU, WGSL, compute shaders, C++, Rust, WebAssembly, Vulkan, Metal, DirectX, Angular, Java, Spring Boot, reality capture, photogrammetry, SLAM, BIM, geospatial applications, or radiance-field techniques.

Benefits

  • 30 days of paid time off per year.
  • EGYM Wellpass fitness and wellness subsidy.
  • Deutschlandticket public transportation subsidy.
  • Flexible working hours and a hybrid work setup.
  • Full visa and relocation support for international candidates.
  • JobRad bike leasing model.
