Responsibilities

  • Discover operational workflows, recurring friction, and emerging failure points, then propose practical software improvements.
  • Prioritize and deliver focused improvements based on user impact, effort, risk, and operational goals.
  • Build iteratively with Operations users, gather feedback, and refine applications based on adoption and outcomes.
  • Own and maintain internal tools, dashboards, automations, integrations, and other Operations applications.
  • Design, implement, test, debug, deploy, troubleshoot, and support production software across multiple languages and Google Cloud Platform.
  • Learn and contribute to the company’s Elixir-heavy core system.

  • Coordinate with Operations, Product Engineering, and technical teams on APIs, schemas, authentication, platform changes, dependencies, and shared-system decisions.
  • Help Operations identify useful AI-assisted workflows and establish safe, repeatable adoption practices.
  • Support shipped software after launch, investigate failures, and verify that changes improve operational friction or delivery quality.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional experience with substantial software engineering experience and ownership of shipped software.
  • Ability to independently design, implement, test, debug, deploy, and maintain production applications, including unfamiliar or AI-generated codebases.
  • Experience building, deploying, or supporting applications and services on Google Cloud Platform.
  • Ability to learn unfamiliar programming languages quickly and contribute to an Elixir-heavy system; prior Elixir experience is not required.
  • Experience building applications, internal tools, automations, or integrations for business or operational users.

  • Ability to assess testing, code review, access controls, sensitive data, dependency management, observability, and production support needs.
  • Ability to work directly with non-engineering users, explain tradeoffs, and turn feedback into working software.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional execution through influence, alignment, ownership, and follow-through.
  • Interest in AI-assisted development and workflow automation, with the ability to validate results and recognize limitations.
  • Preferred experience includes operator-facing applications, workflow automation, dashboards, fleet or robotics tools, and full-stack development across user interfaces, services, APIs, and data integrations.
  • Preferred qualifications include Elixir development, taking prototypes into dependable operational use, effectively reviewing and maintaining AI-assisted code, owning products or internal tools through adoption, helping nontechnical teams adopt AI responsibly, and experience in robotics, autonomous vehicles, logistics, delivery, or field operations.
