Base Salary
$143k - $215k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design systems that operate reliably and enable 99.95% availability.
- Build and maintain observability tools and services for collecting, storing, and analyzing telemetry data.
- Work with petabytes of logs, millions of metrics, and traces at large scale.
- Design, develop, and implement scalable, maintainable systems across the infrastructure stack.
- Contribute to developer tooling and observability architecture for services running on VMs and containers.
- Collaborate with developers and engineering teams on instrumentation, telemetry needs, and reliability practices.
- Use Chef, Terraform, Kubernetes, Go, Prometheus, Envoy, and OTel in infrastructure and platform development.
Requirements
- At least three years of experience in observability systems or developer tooling, preferably in a cloud environment.
- Experience executing multiple large software projects within a team environment.
- Professional experience implementing or actively using metrics, logging, and tracing systems.
- Proficiency in at least one of PHP, Python, or Go.
- Experience with cloud architectures such as GCP or AWS.
- Experience with Kubernetes or other container orchestration frameworks is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform and configuration-management tools such as Chef or Ansible.
- Ability to independently tackle well-scoped problems and improve existing code.
- Strong communication skills and experience working with distributed teams are preferred.
