Base Salary
$164k - $246k/yr
Responsibilities
- Write production-grade Python and contribute to code reviews, pair programming, system design, and architectural decisions.
- Build, operate, and improve ML training and serving infrastructure on Google Cloud and Kubernetes.
- Design and maintain serving infrastructure for open-source and internally hosted LLMs, including deployment, resource management, and performance tuning.
- Apply ML, deep learning, transformer architecture, prediction, and inference knowledge to infrastructure and system design decisions.
- Partner with Applied Scientists to translate model training and serving needs into self-service infrastructure.
- Design high-scale, highly available systems while balancing performance, cost, reliability, and observability.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Applied Statistics, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 5+ years of professional experience building, iterating on, and troubleshooting complex backend and infrastructure systems.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals, including algorithms, data structures, and production-ready Python.
- Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure, preferably Google Cloud, and Kubernetes in production environments.
- Familiarity with observability tooling for metrics, logging, tracing, monitoring, and debugging distributed systems.
- Working knowledge of machine learning fundamentals, LLM serving infrastructure, open-source model hosting, transformer architectures, predictors, and inference systems.
- Comfort designing large-scale, high-availability infrastructure.
