Responsibilities
- Lead the design, evolution, and delivery of scalable and resilient platforms supporting customer and banker experiences.
- Drive architecture and engineering decisions across multiple squads and technology domains.
- Establish reusable engineering patterns, frameworks, standards, and platform accelerators.
- Shape platform strategy across cloud, APIs, customer engagement services, workflow orchestration, data engineering, and AI-enabled capabilities.
- Architect enterprise data pipelines and scalable batch and streaming ETL/ELT frameworks.
- Define data quality, lineage, observability, governance, service boundaries, and ownership models.
- Partner with product, architecture, risk, business, and delivery stakeholders.
- Mentor engineers, influence technical strategy, and foster engineering excellence.
- Embed security, privacy, operational resilience, and responsible AI principles into platform design and delivery.
Requirements
- 15+ years of extensive experience designing and implementing scalable, maintainable, and reliable software solutions.
- Experience operating as a Principal Engineer, Lead Engineer, or senior technical leader in complex enterprise environments.
- Strong track record designing and delivering large-scale distributed systems and platform capabilities.
- Experience with Python, Java, .NET, TypeScript, Go, or similar modern programming languages.
- Experience designing APIs, services, distributed systems, microservices, event-driven architectures, and domain-oriented service architectures.
- Strong experience with front-end technologies such as React or Next.js and across backend, frontend, and integration capabilities.
- Experience architecting enterprise data pipelines with Python and Apache Airflow and implementing scalable ETL/ELT frameworks.
- Experience with AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, and infrastructure as code using Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Experience with cloud-native architecture, deployment automation, secure-by-design engineering, automated testing, observability, monitoring, incident management, and reliability engineering.
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on technical leadership and influence senior stakeholders across engineering, product, architecture, risk, and business teams.
- Strong mentoring and coaching capability.
- Curiosity and enthusiasm for AI-enabled applications, LLMs, AI agent architectures, RAG, responsible AI controls, model evaluation, monitoring, and operationalisation.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Technology.
