Responsibilities

  • Architect, build, and scale the AI Gateway’s backend services, microservices, and high-throughput APIs primarily in Golang.
  • Design distributed systems that handle large data payloads, streaming LLM responses, proxy routing, and low-latency workloads.
  • Integrate AI coding agents and tools into development while auditing generated code for architectural, technical-debt, and security issues.
  • Collaborate with global engineering, AI research, and product teams to translate ambiguous AI requirements into scalable architectures.
  • Lead architectural reviews, code reviews, mentorship, and technical-excellence initiatives for the Taiwan engineering team.
  • Debug complex issues across asynchronous microservices, Kubernetes networking, TLS, and proxy protocols.
  • Own production services through monitoring, shared on-call participation, and permanent structural fixes for recurring incidents.

Requirements

  • 8–10+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 5+ years focused on backend development, cloud-native services, and distributed systems.
  • Exceptional production-grade programming ability in Golang or Python, including building modular libraries, reliable microservices, and scalable frameworks.
  • Demonstrated experience using LLM-based coding agents in real engineering work and validating AI-generated code.
  • Expertise in microservices architecture, RESTful/gRPC API design, distributed-systems trade-offs, caching, consistency, availability, and asynchronous processing.
  • Deep understanding of Layer 4–7 networking, proxy architectures, HTTP/S, TLS interception, DNS, TCP/IP, and load balancing.
  • Hands-on experience developing and debugging services with Docker and Kubernetes, including Kubernetes networking, service discovery, and deployment strategies.
  • Track record of independently driving ambiguous technical problems to working software solutions and communicating complex technical topics in English.
  • BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience; an MS is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, MCP, A2A, LangChain, LlamaIndex, Secure Web Gateways, ZTNA, DLP, AWS, GCP, Azure, Apache Kafka, OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, or Grafana is preferred.

Benefits

  • The position is based in Taiwan and supports collaboration with global engineering, AI research, and product teams.
  • The role includes mentorship, continuous education, and career development opportunities.
  • Employees participate in a shared on-call rotation and own production service health.
  • Netskope describes an inclusive workplace focused on belonging, transparency, curiosity, and equal employment opportunity.
