Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of cross-functional, multi-platform POS applications.
- Perform complex Java programming, coding, unit testing, debugging, and code reviews.
- Collaborate with business partners, architects, and technical teams to define requirements, priorities, and technical solutions.
- Manage system processes and enhancements while enforcing architecture, coding, security, and configuration-management standards.
- Analyze and document data needs, workflows, system interfaces, and outputs.
- Evaluate feasibility, costs, timelines, and integration with existing systems.
- Coordinate development, testing, implementation, documentation, and release activities.
- Troubleshoot production issues, conduct root-cause analysis, and support system issue resolution.
- Ensure application performance, scalability, and reliability targets are met.
- Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting for cloud applications.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and perform security remediation.
- Contribute to project planning, estimation, technical documentation, and deployment-process improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or a related field.
- 5+ years of Java development experience; retail or insurance experience is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming and design principles.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Azure API Gateway, Azure DevOps, and Azure Kubernetes Service.
- Experience with SQL or NoSQL databases, including Oracle and MongoDB.
- Experience developing REST APIs with Java and Spring Boot.
- Experience with a modern JavaScript framework such as React, Angular, or Vue.
- Familiarity with Linux and shell scripting.
- Ability to collaborate globally, solve problems, communicate effectively, and work under pressure.
- Ability to work non-business hours when needed.
- Preferred experience with AI-assisted development tools, Kafka, Azure Event Hub, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JSP, Spring Core, Spring MVC, Spring Web Flow, Spring Security, Spring Tiles, JUnit, XML schema validation, Maven, Git, Apache HTTP Server, Azure Monitor, Application Insights, New Relic, Splunk, and Android development.
- Experience with Agile and/or Waterfall methodologies is preferred.
