Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain software for Qualcomm SoCs and edge devices.
- Develop and maintain embedded-system device drivers and bootloaders.
- Collaborate with system architects, software engineers, and hardware engineers on embedded systems software.
- Troubleshoot and debug embedded software issues.
- Work with hardware engineers to ensure software and hardware compatibility.
- Perform low-level implementation, testing, documentation, and software feature design.
- Mentor other software developers when working in a senior position.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field plus 2+ years of software engineering or related experience; or a master's degree plus 1+ year; or a PhD.
- At least 2 years of academic or work experience with a programming language such as C, C++, Java, or Python.
- Ability to code in C to a high standard.
- Experience with embedded software development, including BSPs, device drivers, board bring-up, RTOS, secure boot, TrustZone, peripheral drivers, and Embedded Linux.
- Knowledge of SoC architecture, hardware blocks, multithreaded programming, peripheral interfaces, PCIe, DMA, and power or clock management.
- Experience with C/C++ unit testing, performance analysis, code coverage, static analysis, GNU/LLVM tools, and JTAG/SWD debugging.
- Experience with source-code and configuration-management tools such as Git and Gerrit.
- Familiarity with high-speed and low-speed interfaces, RAS technologies, on-chip middleware, Linux kernel development, and Embedded Linux build systems.
- Strong written and verbal English communication and the ability to work effectively in an international, multi-site team.
- Equivalent experience may be considered when candidates can demonstrate the required competencies and ability to fulfill the principal duties.
