Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain storage drivers and proprietary Qualcomm filesystem modules for modem processors and Linux-based Qualcomm SoCs.
- Develop Linux kernel storage drivers, filesystem modules, block drivers, and memory subsystem components.
- Optimize storage and memory performance for runtime efficiency and power consumption.
- Debug and resolve kernel-level issues reported by customers and flash vendor partners.
- Develop storage flashing tools, PC image-creation and provisioning tools, and Linux user-space testing and validation tools.
- Contribute to upstream Linux kernel design and implementation of storage and memory features.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, open-source software communities, and the Linux community.
Requirements
- 4+ years of embedded software experience is requested.
- Expert-level C programming skills are required; Python knowledge is a plus.
- Expertise in Linux kernel programming, device-driver development, and kernel internals including memory management and scheduling.
- Experience with Linux filesystem modules such as F2FS, EXT4, and EROFS is a plus.
- Strong kernel and user-space debugging skills, including JTAG or ICE debugger experience.
- Understanding of real-time embedded programming and real-time operating-system concepts.
- Familiarity with ARM architecture and hardware-level debugging is a plus.
- A bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field plus 2+ years of software engineering or related experience, a master's degree plus 1+ year, or a PhD in a related field.
- Academic or work experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Java, or Python.
- Equivalent experience may be considered when the candidate can demonstrate the required competencies and ability to fulfill the role.
