Responsibilities
- Design, develop, troubleshoot, and deliver creative software solutions and secure, high-quality production code.
- Create user interfaces and interactive features for web applications.
- Review and debug code written by other engineers.
- Identify and automate recurring issue remediation to improve software and system operational stability.
- Lead internal architectural evaluation sessions and drive outcomes-oriented technical decisions.
- Lead software engineering communities of practice and promote adoption of emerging technologies.
- Drive adoption and governance of approved AI-assisted engineering practices, including code review, refactoring, testing, release readiness, and incident/root-cause analysis.
- Establish validation standards for AI-assisted outputs, including secure coding, peer review, automated testing, correctness, performance, and security.
- Apply software development lifecycle tooling and automation capabilities to improve engineering outcomes at scale.
- Coach senior engineers and leads on responsible, compliant AI-assisted development practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related discipline.
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 12+ years of applied experience.
- Hands-on experience with system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Experience developing microservices with Java, Spring Boot, and Python.
- Experience with cloud technologies, distributed systems, RESTful APIs, web technologies, WebSockets, and JSON.
- Experience designing and building enterprise-scale, high-volume data-processing applications using SQL databases such as Oracle.
- Advanced proficiency with front-end technologies such as C# and React and back-end technologies such as Java, Spring, and Python.
- Proficiency across the software development lifecycle, automation, and continuous delivery methods.
- Understanding of application resiliency, security, and software engineering practices.
- Experience with JIRA, Maven, Git, Jenkins, GitHub, and BitBucket.
- Experience leading effective use of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools and validating their outputs.
- Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure input and output handling, resiliency, and security controls.
- Preferred experience in large corporate environments, financial services IT systems, observability and production management, AWS certification, and emerging AI or machine learning technologies.
