Responsibilities

  • Design, operate, improve, and renew Rakuten Mobile and related service websites.
  • Research technologies, design functional requirements, and decide which technologies to adopt.
  • Collaborate with web directors, designers, backend engineers, business owners, and engineers from other Rakuten services.
  • Make requests to backend engineers and participate throughout projects from launch through post-release improvements.
  • Write, review, and release front-end code while assuring production code quality.
  • Perform web deployment tasks and gain experience with project management on large, frequently updated websites.

Requirements

  • More than 3 years of front-end development experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or similar technologies.
  • A career plan focused on working in the front-end domain for the next 3 years.
  • Experience with a version control system such as Git.
  • Professional or learning experience with React.js and Vue.js.
  • Professional front-end experience in environments other than React.js and Vue.js.
  • Experience working with multiple engineers is preferred.
  • Experience creating or operating consumer-facing websites other than membership websites or web applications is preferred.
  • Front-end-related skills in application development, SEO, web performance, infrastructure, or backend development are preferred.
  • Japanese fluency and beginner-level overall English are listed.
