Responsibilities
- Define the end-to-end architecture for Faire's search and discovery experience.
- Integrate LLM-powered capabilities into the product.
- Build high-scale, low-latency systems for product navigation.
- Collaborate with Data Science, Product, and Design teams on ranking models.
- Mentor team members and foster a culture of engineering excellence.
- Lead the design of composable grids and intent-aware routing.
- Leverage LLMs to improve query understanding accuracy.
- Drive initiatives to increase retrieval candidates while maintaining latency.
- Develop AI-driven features to enhance search sessions.
- Ensure reliability and observability of the search funnel.
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- 3+ years as a technical leader on complex projects.
- Strong user-first mindset with the ability to translate business problems into technical solutions.
- Experience with machine learning and gen-AI systems in search.
- Knowledge of search/query processing frameworks like Elasticsearch.
- Strong programming skills in Kotlin or Java.
- Ability to contribute to team strategy and influence organizational roadmap.
